Arrival Information

This page contains information on travelling to and from Sydney Airport and registering at the Congress Venue.

Transport from Sydney Airport

Taxi:
A taxi stand is located outside the arrivals hall at both international and domestic terminals of Sydney Airport. The fare to the City or UNSW is approximately $35.

Train:
The Airport Link train service has stations at both the domestic and international terminals. Follow the signs in the arrivals halls. Catch this service to Central Station and the City Circle stations. The fare is approximately $15. The Metro Hotel on Pitt is closest to Town Hall Station. Other City Hotels shown on the PRIMA2009 Google map are closer to Central Station. If you are staying in Coogee or close to UNSW, then the train is not a good option.

Bus:
The route 400 public bus stops outside both the international and Qantas domestic terminals. To catch this bus to UNSW make sure you board a bus travelling in the direction of Bondi Junction. Note that this is a slow service and can be crowded and so is not recommended. The fare is $4.20. A cash fare can be purchased from the driver. See the Public Transport page for more information.

Registration at the Congress Venue

On Sunday 5 July 2:30pm -- 7pm and Monday 6 July 8am -- 4pm, registration at the venue will be at the Clancy Back Counter (D24 on the campus map and coloured blue on the venue map.) On other days, a Congress Desk will be in the Mathews Pavilions from 10am until the end of afternoon tea. If you need to register on one of these days and the congress desk is unattended, there will be a map and program visible so that you can attend a session and return later during a tea or lunch break to register.

If you need to catch a bus from the City to the venue on Sunday, you can catch the 393 or 395 from Railway Square or Eddy Avenue. These depart every 15 minutes starting on the hour. There are also two 391 services per hour at 25 and 55 past the hour from Eddy Avenue. On Sunday, you can purchase a cash ticket on these buses. The route 10 metrobus also runs every 15 minutes on Sunday but you will need to purchase a prepaid ticket before boarding this service.

Transport to Sydney Airport

Taxi:
To catch a taxi to Sydney Airport, you can hail one on the street or book one by phone or online. Call 133 300 or see the Taxis Combined website to book online and for information on fares. There are also a number of taxi ranks around the City Centre. The fare is approximately $35 from either the City or UNSW to the Airport.

Train:
The Airport Link train service runs from the City Circle and Central Stations. The fare is approximately $15. The Metro Hotel on Pitt is closest to Town Hall Station. Other City Hotels shown on the PRIMA2009 Google map are closer to Central Station. If you are staying in Coogee or close to UNSW, then the train is not a good option.

Bus:
Catch the route 400 public bus from High St near the Congress venue or ANZAC Parade. Make sure you catch a 400 in the direction of Burwood or Rockdale. Not all 400s stop at the airport. Check the timetable and front of the bus. If in doubt, ask the driver. The bus stops first at domestic terminal before continuing on to the international terminal. Note that this is a slow service and can be crowded and so is not recommended. The fare is $4.20. A cash fare can be purchased from the driver. See the Public Transport page for more information.
